thursday after class

Hey all, well we survived the first day of class and Chris taking care of the dogs during the day. What was I worried about? Everybody is fine. Class was good. I'm amazed at what I know and how much more there is to learn about OB.

I've been up since 0445. Enough time to walk the dogs. Take a shower and get dressed. Feed the dogs and cat. Get my stuff together. Forget and misplace things and find them. Walk as fast as possible (ouch) to the parking space to get the car and pick up Liz. Off we went to Holy Cross in Silver Spring. We travelled the most scenic route through Rock Creek Park. It was beautiful. You would never know that it was DC.

Class was interesting, the instructor was brilliant and FUNNY. Probably just a bit older than me. But when she would say, "in the olden days we would....." wellllll, I remember the olden days too! Yikes! Sigh.
But why OH why could I barely stay awake. I would go through periods of STUPOR and have to drink and fiddle a bit and concentrate and flex my legs, etc. Then I would be fine. Mostly I was fine when the instructor announced, "Lunch is in 10 minutes.."  "Break for 20 minutes!"...."see you in 15 minutes"

I'm a terrible audience!

So I've just pigged out on a huge chicken salad sandwich with chips and pickles. The dogs are playing underneath the coffee table. Fox News is on. My window is open and it is beautifully sunny even at 7pm.

Anysia called from Florida. Wanted to know why I had to pray to St Francis to help me through these next few days with 3 dogs. Well, seeing as Day #1 has gone just fine, I must say that St Francis listened.

Have a calm and relaxing evening!

  1. Something about being in class in the morning always put me to sleep, too. Don't tell my parents, but I slept at my desk through just about every 8 or 9 am o'clock class I ever took in college. It was legendary. (For the record, I blame morning swim practice.)

  2. Andrew...you are hysterical! Promise I won't tell your Mom and Dad that 1/6 of your tuition money went to sleeping.

Once Aunt Anne (Buz) and I were watching "Twister" on TV. My kids actually bet that we wouldn't stay awake through it. OMG we both passed out midway through the movie- when the cows and trucks were flying!
